Sarah has been interviewed for and had The Craftivist Collective’s work covered all over the world by many different media outlets from features on the homepage of the BBC News website in Argentina, Iceland and the UK to being interviewed in a USA recording studio for TED Radio Hour with NPR for the episode ‘How To Change the World’. She has been on live radio as an interviewee and prerecorded as a panelist on arts, culture and politics shows and also enjoys being featured in magazines by charities for their supporters.
Sarah was commissioned to write and pre-record a BBC Radio 4 FourThought speech that is still popular on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds. She has been commissioned to write essays for magazines such as as Mollie Makes and Simply Sewing as well as create projects for readers of Oh Comely magazine, Cross Stitch Crazy and Love Embroidery.
French TV channel Canal+ captured our gentle craftivists taking part in a workshop and doing street craftivism around the CIty of London to support the Robin Hood Tax campaign. Sarah has been part of the Children’s BBC series ‘Our School’ as a guest workshop leader and had a camera follow her around with TV Presenter Jenny Eclair for the BBC 4 Documentary: “Craftivism: making a difference”.
SkyArts chose Sarah as one of their commissioned artists to be part of their award-winning ‘Statues Redressed’ 90minute documentary (see above image) where she invited members of the public and local secondary school to sit around the statue creating decorations for it whilst we asked the elected Mayor of Liverpool Joanne Anderson, questions about her role in tackling global warming. The documentary special, also on streaming service NOW, saw artists challenge and celebrate the role of statues in modern times, as part of the ongoing debate around who and what should be immortalised as public monuments.
