We are proud and excited to say we will be at this years BUST Christmas Craftacular on Sunday 27th November 2016. We love this craft fair – it’s always so fun for all of the family with ace DJs, great workshops to take part in, supercool stalls and just a lovely community of crafty people to hang out with who not only want to make stuff, buy stuff but support others making the world they want to be part of. So come and hang out with some of our craftivists and you will have a great day out. BUST Craftacular London’s curator and event organiser Nikki Shaill writes:

“What makes BUST Craftacular special is the activism, rebellious spirit and community creativity at its heart. The event will be the perfect opportunity for people to invest in gifts that have been handmade with love and a conscience!”

One of 5 Stitchable Changemakers to choose from including Malala, Desmond Tutu, JK Rowling, Abraham Lincoln and Eleanor Roosevelt.

Come and join craftivists who can help you stitch your own letterpress printed ‘Stitchable Changemaker‘ dot-to-dot embroidery of a famous inspirational figure at our workshop area in the Main Hall. You can drop in anytime between 11am-5pm on your own or with friends to do this slow, gentle and beautiful form of craftivism (activism through craft). Plus for this day only our ethical workshop kits you will use will be £5 instead of £7.

With over 70 independent designer makers stalls, DJs and DIY workshops, BUST Craftacular promises to put the fun back into festive shopping. This carefully curated craft market offers the chance to peruse in person for unique hand-made gifts from the best of UK talent, including Tatty Devine, Rob Ryan and us! Vendors will be selling screen-printed cushions and woven wall hangings, pug patches and cult film pins, mudlarked treasures from the Thames, jewellery, illustration, children’s wear and more. Goodie bags will be given to the first 100 shoppers to arrive (and their goodie bags are legendary!).

BUST Craftacular London’s curator and event organiser Nikki Shaill writes,

“I’m thrilled that Craftivist Collective can be part of BUST Craftacular again this year. They reflect what makes BUST Craftacular special and unique- both sharing the importance of a passion for creative activism,a rebellious spirit and community.

“At Christmas especially, with all the marketing and hype, we can be lured into becoming careless consumers but Craftivist Collective offer both creative and conscious crafting alternatives. Their toolkits and resources make fantastic gifts in themselves to invite friends and family to try some stitching for the first time, or use their embroidery skills in new ways. Or you can use their kits to create thoughtful and unique gifts to give to others.
“I am looking forward to seeing people participating in Craftivist Collective’s Stitchable Changemakers workshop at the event. I enjoyed taking part in one of these workshops and seeing Eleanor Roosevelt’s face emerging, stitch by stitch, as I reflected on her life and what we can learn from her. I hope that people can enjoy taking some time out of the busy Christmas shopping period to sit down and share in stitching with Craftivist Collective on the day.
The event will be the perfect opportunity for people to invest in gifts they can trust have been handmade with love and a conscience, such as Craftivist Collective’s carefully sourced products and toolkits. And hopefully have lots of festive themed fun too!”
