1st_march_CC07Calling all Northern Ireland Craftivists! Don’t forget that the #imapiece installation of over 700 hand-stitched jigsaw pieces supporting Save the Children’s Race Against Hunger campaign landed in Ulster Hall, Belfast tonight.

Craftivists Kirsty McGuinness (local contemporary Cross Stitch artist from Redhead Thread) and Lucie Corcoran (community artist) have been working hard organising to host the jigsaws and installing each piece (it took me 5 hours to put up in Manchester!). Please do go and see their hard work and the beautiful pieces craftivists from across the world have created.

The installation will stay up until the 1st June. For more information check out the Facebook event or Belfast listings here page.

And don’t forget, anyone who wants to host the installation in their area or wants to get involved in other ways needs to speak to Save the Children at Campaign@savethechildren.org.uk

I heard on the grape vine that there are plans for it to go to Bath next…

Hey Catherine :) there haven’t been any plans at the moment for the jigsaws to go to Scotland but if you want to host it- go for it. Check with Save the Children if they have plans since they have and are organising all that now
