04 Jan Project: Craftivist Footprints – A step in the right direction
“I
What an inspiring quote! You may not feel particularly important, but you are. Each of us can make a difference by living our lives in a more thoughtful way, and that’s what Craftivist Collective footprints are here to remind us.
This project is about encouraging people to think about the imprint they are leaving on the world and the journey they are on as a global citizen.
Stitch a thought, quotation or lyric onto a printed fabric footprint and either keep it for yourself to remind you to stay on the right path, or give it to someone to encourage them to be their best selves and leave a positive mark on the planet. You can even leave your footprint in a public place where members of the general public will spot it.
Visit our shop to buy a kit, which includes canvas fabric with footrprint or shoeprint stencil on, needle and thread, instructions and suggested content for your print if your mind goes blank! All profits go to help sustain and grow the Craftivist Collectives activities to engage people in craftivism and support vulnerable people in the world.
Stitch your footprint on your own while you reflect on the issues at hand, or get together for a group stitch-in where you can discuss your ideas with others, be encouraged by liked-minded people, and hopefully engage curious passers-by, who will wonder what you’re up to!
We would love you to take a photo of your completed footprint and email us a short blog about what message you stitched and why you chose where to place it, so we can share it with fellow craftivists and supporters.
