24 Nov OMGeee this is the cute-ist poster we have ever been on!

We have been big fans of Made in the Shade ever since a few of us went to their Glasgow shop (The Maisonette) and loved everything. So when they asked us to deliver a workshop in their beautiful Pop Up Library at this years Christmas BUST Craftacular we couldn’t say no.

Our Founder Sarah is also doing a short talk about craftivism as part of the State of Craft books ‘Meet the Authors’ since one of our projects is in that book. Woop woop. Another great excuse to hang out with our lovely craft community (and try to convert them all into craftivists mwhahahahahaaa!).

Don’t forget to come and find us at our stall all day at Craftacular UK too- it’s the one with bricks and a shoe  the table amongst other junk looking props. We are going for a derelict-chic vibe like designer “Jacobim Mugatu” on Zoolander but without the child slavery part!

Please help. Our library is closing down due to the governMENTAL cuts. We hold a craft group in it. The only way we think we could save it is by making some thought provoking bunting and possibly tying ourselves to the library with it. Can you give us any further ideas or inspiration?

Hey Julia. Please email us at craftivist-collective@gmail.com and we can book a phone meeting to see if we can help with more advice. These cuts are mental! Too fast and too deep! But there are some local councils coming up with innovative ways to keep libraries open and make them more multipurpose to be hubs of the community. I would recommend speaking I your local councillor, mp, research how other libraries are campaigning or have successful stayed open too
