10 Nov Fine Cell Work kit making workshop to help prisoners at Christmas
After an inspiring presentation Fine Cell Work did for our craftivists in our August 2010 monthly meeting in their office surrounded by beautiful cushions we all felt we wanted to do more to support this incredible crafy charity. We have arranged a session at Fine Cell Work HQ where 20 Craftivists will have the chance to put kits together for prisoners to use during Christmas.
Fine Cell Work urgently needs kits to send out to prisoners to stitch during the long hours they are locked up. At Christmas prisoners are locked up for even longer hours because staff are on holiday. … Many ny online pharmacy inmates rely on the work to pass the time and to support them financially. And therefore many more kits are requested by prisoners over the Christmas period to help them cope with their lows and long time alone in their cells
The kit making session will involve making up needlepoint kits- cutting wools, canvas and packaging up with instructions to be distributed to inmates in 29 prisons across the UK. Please bring a pair of scissors if possible.
We need 20 people to attend this session. If you don’t have time to give but can support FCW financially please give here. We are hoping we will get so much enthusiastm that we can do another session in November! 🙂
