Support our Founder Sarah P Corbett to harness the gentle power of craftivism to help make a happier, healthier and more harmonious world for all.

I see it as a compliment that sometimes people presume there’s a team of staff behind the Craftivist Collective. It’s intentionally just me, full-time, gathering in skilled specialists and volunteers when needed. I have patrons who support me with monthly or annual donations to help me do what I do best. This way of working is better for my mental health - supporting our growing community of compassionate changemakers directly in a way that everyone feels seen, heard and valued as unique individuals on their own path as gentle protesters. It’s also the most sustainable way for me to keep creating innovative work in an authentic way that inspires, empowers and leads to genuine longterm positive change.

There’s a long history of activists having patrons. People who said, “Yes, I support the work Ghandi is doing, let’s make sure he’s fed every day.” Arts patronage is another model that’s been around for a long time - “I will pay Matisse’s rent for the next year and see what he creates.”

Patronage is about believing in a cause, investing in a person or wanting to see what transformations in our world are possible, rather than paying for some sort of predefined result or output. It’s less transactional and more about long term change-making. It’s about trusting the activist or the artist to do the right thing at the right time, even if it’s not in the spotlight or it’s hard to see the ripple effectives quickly.

I am now cosily sitting on my settee with the ribbon on the chronicle unwrapped. As always, the design and the layout of the chronicle is beautiful. I am both inspired and in awe of it.

The work you do is truly amazing and I am very proud to sponsor you.

I love you and what you do. Thanks for letting me play a small part in supporting your amazing mission.

Your patronage of £10 a month or £120 a year gives me the flexibility to deep dive into stuff when I need to, to react when appropriate, or to hide away and do something long term, like writing my handbook. Sometimes I work with freelancers and volunteers for some projects. Sometimes I world alone. This agile way of working is financially frugal. You need a lot of head and heartspace to do what I do and it’s difficult to get paid for that. Thanks to patrons support, I’m able to work in a more sustainable way physically, mentally and emotionally. This is a priceless investment into our Gentle Protest and Gentle Craftivism work. By become a patron our Gentle Protest work and the Craftivist Collective can thrive.

Exclusive perks for my patrons:

  • Limited edition annual print booklet called Gentle Protest Chronicles exclusively made for patrons and signed by me to celebrate what we have achieved together and how to build on those blocks.

  • Quarterly newsletter with behind-the-scenes candid updates

Do you know anyone who would like to become a patron?
